A few years ago, I interviewed talented R&B artist, Mariami, as she told the story of how her family fled the Soviet Union during the 90s when she was a child. The Georgian born/Brooklyn bred artist shares her story through her music with the release of her new single, "I Survived A War." Mariami speaks to the theme of female strength and resilience and hope there are others who can find a path to emerge victorious over their own battles in this new world.
