A Conversation With Fresita

Fresita is catching a lot of attention in Philadelphia's latin community with her blazing photos on Instagram and running her own boutique shop.  I had the pleasure to ask Fresita about her clothing store La Boutique, the challenges of running a business, a possibility of starting her clothing line, and the emergence of Team Fresita.

Sincere: How are you Fresita? Tell the world where you’re from and what part of the Dominican Republic do you represent?

Fresita: Hey, I'm doing well thanks to God, I'm from Santo Domingo which is the capital of the Dominican Republic.

Sincere: Your name is very unique. What does the name Fresita mean?

Fresita: Well that name is something that my husband gave me when he met me and from there on my friends started to call me that and it just stuck with me.

Sincere: You are the owner of La Boutique which is based in Philly. How long have you been in business and can you elaborate on what kind of items do you sell?

Fresita: Yes, I'm the owner of the Boutique which took two years to get to the public, thanks to God and my beautiful clients and I sell clothes for women.

Sincere: What challenges have you faced running your own business?

Fresita: Really, there is no bad part with the business, neither with Team Fresita. Sometimes it can be a lot to do in the boutique and a lot with Team Fresita. I have a great team and they have been making my job very easy. As of right now, everything has been good on my part.

Sincere: Is there a possibility you may want to start your own clothing line?

Fresita: Yes, those are my plans for the future and when I strike hard it will be something people will love.

Sincere: You are also known in Philly’s latin community for hosting events. You have started a new brand called “Team Fresita.” Can you tell me who is in the group and what made you decide to have a team of sexy models?

Fresita: Team Fresita consist of the following women: Ana de Brasil, Anita de Puerto Rico, Yanet de Santo Domingo, DR Michelle de Santo Domingo, DR and Eimy (Fresita) de Santo Domingo DR.  The team started the following way. I started to work in New York City, but I live in Philadelphia. It only took two weeks to see the difference between the two cities since I travel to both often. I got to see the difference in the night life between the two. I got bored of the tons of stuff I would see living in Philly for so many years and there was not much of a difference in the places to have fun. I decided to get a group of bad chicks and turn things up. Not just for them to be a bottle girl but to know and give something magic to the places we are in.  I believe with that peoples nightlife have been very fun and they feel they are doing something different. Always they go to see where me and my girls are working and giving the best smile, which is the best attention in the world. Team Fresita!

Sincere: Outside of hosting events and running a business, what do you like to do on your spare time?

Fresita: Well, outside of my events and my business, my hobbies is to be a Mother. I have a 7 year old child. I love being home and cooking along with attending to my husband. I love going out too eat, really I love eating. I have nothing else but my life and my business LOL. I like calling my sister who lives in NY and I love sharing and spending time with her. Fresita is the lifestyle, but Eimy is one who everyone is familiar with.

Sincere: What advice do you have for women of color who may want to start their own business?

Fresita: My advice to every female is to do whatever you propose to get it, not only dream it, especially if you are not going to put in the work and effort to get what you want.

Sincere: Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to interview you. Where can people follow you on social media?

Fresita: Instagram: Fresita1319, Instagram: teamfresita19 and Snapchat: eimypion19
