I miss the days in which you can go to a underground hip hop party in NYC and listen to some classic tunes being spun by a DJ that uses vinyl. No disrespect to anyone who uses Serato but nothing beats vinyl. Thanks to my dude DJ Emskee for continuing the trend by putting together a monthly event where the djs just play vinyl from the late 80s to the 90s. I remember listening to DJ Emskee on the Underground Railraod Show along with A-Vee, Monk One, & DJ Spinna on the turntables. G-Man & Jay Smooth hosted the show along with my homegirl GAIL from Baruch. The Underground Railroad show played a huge role in actually BREAKING independent records that commercial radio wouldn't dare touch. Here are a few photos from the party and you can also listen to the podcast while you're at work or chilling at the crib. ENJOY!!
